NEW ACCESSORIES ARE NOVEL AND USEFUL
Novelty and usefulness are outstanding features of new accessories overseas. Some show a return to styles favoured in the 1920’5, for example, the long “vamp” cigarette holders, which women in Paris are reported to be using again. An example of usefulness: The evening bag with a powder compact contained in the lid—an.idea introduced by Paris designer Jacques Faith.
An example of novelty: The cham-pagne-cork bracelet designed by Pierre Balmain, which has six corks attached to heavy links. Another: The Sydney compact called Rendezvous. On , the lid is a list for appointments, with hands that can be shifted to indicate the engagement' and its time. Jewellery news from Paris and America are chandelier ear-rings with three or' four pendants dropping two or three inches below the ear.
