NEW DELHI, June 22 (Rec. 10 a.m.). —Lions from the Gir forests in Kathiawar mauled to death three villagers after one of them had tried to capture two cubs, according to reports reaching Rajkot today. Another report from Amreli said that Government officials shot a lioness which had fallen into a well. The shooting of lions in the Gir forest, the only place in India where they are found, is prohibited.
