REEFTON SOME BURST PIPES FOLLOW HARD FROSTS
REEFTON, This Day (0.C.).— A thaw yesterday morning gave an appreciable rise in temperature following three hard frosts. On Monday last over 12 degrees was recorded, being the heaviest for the winter so found water taps frozen on Monday and Tuesday morning and in some places theie were burst water pipes. The mountains are carrying a very heavy coat of snow, at low level. PERSONAL Mr J. B. Auld, Reefton, travelled to Christchurch on Tuesday, for medical attention. - Mr J. T. Lawn left on Tuesday foi Auckland, en route to. Australia, where he will spend an extended h °Messrs H. Patterson, of Patea, and R. Patterson, of Westport, are visiting relatives at Reefton.
