BRITAIN REDUCES ESTIMATES FOR FOOD MINISTRY

LONDON, March 31 (Rec. 10.10 -—The estimates for the Food Ministry for the coming year total about £402,000,000 —a decrease of £21,000,000 on this year’s figure. The chief decrease is in trading services'.

Simultaneously with the drop in the estimates the Ministry is pruning its staffs from which 900 have recently left. The staff, cuts will eventually total 3500, saving more than £ 1,000,000.
