PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ SPORTS WON BY RUNANGA SCHOOL

From about 25 schools competing at the West Coast inter-primary schools’ sports meeting conducted by the Primary Schools’ Sports Association at Victoria Park yesterday, Runanga State School, with a total of 216 points, scored the highest aggregate points. The meeting was conducted on a system in which the smaller schools were graded according to roll numbers. Points awarded were: Individual races, 3 points for win, 2 points for second, and 1 point for third. Team races, 9 points for win, 6 points for second, and 3 points for third.

Results were: Runanga State, 216 points, 1; Marist Brothers, 144, 2; St Pat’s Convent, Greymouth, 102, 2; Blaketown, 99, 4; Cobden State, 98, 5; Paroa, 90, 6; Boddytown, Kumara Junction, Kumara Convent, and Runanga Convent, each 60 points, equal, 7.
