Mrs F. Curtis, who has been visiting relatives in Greymouth, left by this morning’s express on return to ChristCh Mr C a'nd Mrs R. McMillan left by the express this morning en route to Invercargill. Mr and Mrs S. H. Eatwell were passengers on this morning’s express to Christchurch. Mr W. M. Fraser, who has been Registrar of the Magistrate’s Court at Greymouth' since January, 1949, has received notice of his transfer on promotion to Invercargill. Advice to this effect was received by the Justice Department, Greymouth, yesterday. Mr Fraser will be succeeded by Mr F. S. Collier, clerk of the court, Hokitika. Mr R. Sullivan, who has been offi-cer-in-charge of the Kaimata power station for a number of years, was met at a farewell function by the staff of the State Hydro-electric Department at Dobson yesterday. The presentation of a fountain pen set on their behalf was made by Mr H. Peters, who expressed regret at Mr Sullivan’s departure. Mr Sullivan thanked members of the staff for the present, and said that he had always received the fullest co-operation from them during his service there. Mr Sullivan will leave shortly to take up an engineering appointment at sea.
