Balkis A Form Prospect For Waimate Race
In a moderate field which will parade in the Waimate Cup at the Waimate Racing Club’s meeting tomorrow Balkis may stage a return to the winning list. The Sir Beau mare has been running solid races for minor placings, and she was prominent in both her races at the recent Oamaru fixture. Terminate was deemed unlucky not to beat Elofa at Washdyke last month and these two must again be considered in tomorrow’s field;
Although All Serene failed to cope with the best sprint class at the Wellington meeting, the Riccarton-train-ed three-year-old probably will be a staunch favourite for the open sprint, the President’s Handicap. Bosun had very smart form over short distances in the hack ranks.
