Early Interest That early interest is being shown in the coming visit of the British Rugby touring team was brought to the notice of the West Coast Rugby Union at its meeting this week. Two applications for seats for the first test at Christchurch on June 10 were received. One for 30 seats came from the Kiwi Club and the other, referred back by the Canterbury Union, from an enthusiast at Fox Glacier. As no allocation for this match had yet been made, and it was thought the West Coast quota would be small, it was decided to take no action.
Coaching A Wing Threequarter Which has the greater value in the equipment of a Rugby three-quarter, the ability to side step or the ability to swerve? Mr T. C. Morrison, a man who has represented New Zealand, favours the former; Mr. J. N. Millard, chairman of the Wellington Union, who has successfully coached many representative sides, favours the swerve. Although it was stated that conflict of opinion was one of the things sought in the coaching lectures being conducted by the Wellington Union’s coaching committee, this point was just about the only one at a recent gathering that gave rise to a difference of opinion.
