Red Air Force’s Claims
PRAGUE. —The Russian Air Force made more than 3,000,000 sorties during the war, according to the newspaper Pravda published in Bratislava. It is claimed that Russian airmen shot down a grand total of 75,000 enemy aircraft. “The Soviet aircraft industry is now producing jet-propelled planes with a speed of 1,000 kilometres (625 miles) an hour,” the paper said.—-Reuter.
