MARIST HIGH SCHOOL PUPILS COMPLETE THREE-DAY BARRACKS
A three-day barracks for pupils of the Marist Brothers’ High School, Greymouth, was concluded today. .This is the first time a barracks of this nature has been conducted at the school. Pupils were given complete A.T.C. training under the following headings: radio (sending and receiving), rifle and Bren-gun instruction, squadron drill, and instruction in rescue training with a dinghy and various life-saving techniques. Instructional films have also been screened. The barracks concluded today with an all-day shoot on the Cobden, beach. In this final stage, all senior cadets received range instruction, firing .303 rifles and Bren-guns. The cadets were under the com-, mand of Rev. Bro. Maurice and Corporal J. B. Young, of the Greymouth Air Training Corps.
