SEVERAL TEAMS HAVE NO POINTS YET: SCORE CARD ISSUE

Several teams in the West Coast Cricket Association’s competitions have not yet scored a point officially, although they may have scored several outright wins in competition matches. This was disclosed at last evening’s meeting of the Association, when the secretary, Mr R. Lee, reported that he had received few official score cards during the season. According to the rules of the Association no team can be accredited with competition points until such time as an official score card, giving details of a match, has been handed in. In reply to a question, Mr Lee stated that this factor would have a direct bearing on the results of the various competitions.

TEAM FOR TOUR

The sole selector for the West Coast Cricket Association, Mr L. C. Lindley, has chosen the following 22 players to practice prior to the selection of the West Coast team to play Christchurch Suburban and Ashburton Cricket Association representative teams in Canterbury this month: — R. Cook, R. Stoop, G. Marsh (Hokitika), T. Dennehy, S. Garforth, W Kennedy, J. Finnerty (Marist), R, Lee (Brunner), A. Knapp (Cobden), R,. Donaldson, M. Vernon, W. Bullock, D Hendry, N. Lawson, N. Ainsworth (United), J. McNaughton, F. Pascoe, J. Hooper, S. Fleming (Blackball), A. Krakosky (Kaimoto), W. Roberts, A. Vaughan (Runanga). It is proposed to select 13 players for the trip, two to act as reserves for each match, and all players to take part in at least one game. Any player included in the above list, and not available for the trip, is requested to notify the selector.
