SYDNEY, This Day (Rec. 11.45 a.m.). —The Sydney heat wave in northern and north-west New South Wales is continuing today, while a southerly change persists in Sydney. Bourke, the hottest town in NewSouth Wales, registered 118 degrees yesterday and is expected to run out of beer today. Wilcannia recorded 116 degrees, Cobar and Nyngan 115 and Walgett 114.
