PRINCESS ELIZABETH NOW AT MALTA

VALETTA, November 21 (Rec. 11 a.rri:).—The Duke of Edinburgh was the first to greet Princess Elizabeth when she reached Malta. He was accompanied by the Earl of Mountbatten, whose wife travelled with the Princess.

Thousands of people, waving and cheering, lined the streets of Valetta to welcome Princess Elizabeth when she arrived at Malta to join the Duke of Edinburgh today—their second wedding anniversary. The Duke, surrounded, by highranking officers and officials, waited half an hour in a cold wind before the Royal Viking plane, in which the Princess travelled, touched down at the airport. The aircraft’s crew said they had a splendid trip. ; After an official reception Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh were driven through the crowded streets to Lord Mountbatten’s villa, where the Princess will stay. —
