AIR STOWAWAY SENT TO PRISON

LONDON, October 4 (Rec. 11.10 a.m.). —Robert Thomas Green, aged 22, a former R.A.F. pilot, who stowed away in a freight plane in August in the hope of seeing his girl friend in Canada, was today sent to prison for three months. The Magistrates said they considered his action was “likely to imperil the aircraft’s safety.” The case was the first of its kind to come before a British court.

The prosecution stated that the captain of the aircraft found extreme difficulty in taking off because the aircraft seemed • tail heavy. Green came out of the tail 105 mintes after the plane had left London.
