Baby Sitters
CANBERRA, This Day (Rec. 1 p.m.).—The Federal executive of the Australian Labour . Party wants baby sitting to be provided through the Commonwealth Employment Service. The executive has decided to ask the Minister in charge of this service to carry out these plans. Members of the executive felt that the occupation of baby sitter had become of national importance.
One member said that some baby sitters were paid 5s hourly, but that the problem was to get them.
The president of the executive, ■> Mr A. S. McAlpine, said that if an • award were made baby sitters would come under the Miscellaneous Workers’ Union,
