50,000 WORKERS ON STRIKE: BELGIANS EMPLOYED IN FRANCE

LONDON, October 3.—The Brussels correspondent of the British United Press says that more than 50,000 border workers struck today to support their demand for a wage increase of 12 per cent, to compensate them for wage cuts caused by devaluation.

The workers, most of whom are employed in the textile and iron and steel industries, live in Belgium but work in France.

Their wages have been reduced because the devaluation rates fixed by France and Belgium are different.
