Man-hunt For Central Otago Murderer

DUNEDIN, October 3 (P.A.).—The man who killed Mr William Fraser Mclntosh, of Moa Creek, is still at large, and Superintendent J. Mclntyre, who is in charge of the police search, said tonight that there had been no fresh developments. In the most thorough man-hunt in Otago in recent years, a large force of detectives and constables, with the assistance of two outside officers, again combed a large area in Central Otago today. Chief Detective F. J. Brady, of Christchurch, and Senior Detective J. W. Hill, of Timaru, arrived at Moa Creek today. Both these officers have been prominent in recent cases in the north. The police are living at the Moa Creek and Poolburn Hotels, but Mr Mclntosh’s house is being used as headquarters during the day. It is reported that a police guard has been placed over a farm in the Moa Creek district. No official announcement, however, has been made about this.
