Total Eclipse Of Moon Not Visible In N.Z.

WELLINGTON, This Day A total eclipse of the, moon will take place when it is at full on Friday afternoon (New Zealand time), but it will not be visible from New Zealand, said the director of the Carter Observatory, Mr I. L. Thomsen, today. Friday’s eclipse, he said, would be visible from Greenwich, western Asia, Europe, the western part of the Indian Ocean, Africa, the Atlantic Ocean, parts of North America, South' America, the Arctic and the Antarctic.

The next eclipse, on April 3, 1950, would be visible from Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia. New Zealand might see “the tail end” of the one after that, on September 26, 1950.
