SUBSIDY TO RURAL POWER BOARDS: CHANGES DESIRED

WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.).— A request for alterations to the conditions governing the payment ’ of subsidies to certain rural power boards is to be made to the Rural Electrical Reticulation Council by the Electric Power Boards and Supply Authorities’ Association. A decision to this effect was made at today’s conference. It was also decided that the association’s executive call a conference of all interested in rural reticulation. Other decisions were that a special committee be appointed to offer the association’s help to any supply authority or power board that might be the subject of the Local. Government Commission’s deliberations, that rating be abolished on all electric power lines and that the principle of outdoor metering be approved for all new domestic installations. . Mr J z A. Nash (Manawatu-Oroua) was elected president.
