Blackball Miners To Buy Health Stamps

At a meeting yesterday, members of the Blackball Miners’ Union authorised the imposition of a levy of 10s a man for the purchase of health stamps in the current health camp campaign. This will mean that stamps to the value of more than £lOO will be bought by the union members, whose contribution to the health camp funds will be about £35. This is the first action of this nature to be taken on the West Coast in connection with the health camp campaign, but, it is understood, similar action is to be considered by other miners’ unions this week.
