BADMINTON St John’s Win Gunn Casket Match
There were some closely contested matches when the return fixture fur the Gunn Casket between St Johns, Greymouth, and Hokitika was played last Thursday evening at St John’s Hall. The result was a win for St Johns who defeated Hokitika, the holders, by 11 games to 1. Greymouth scored 248 {joints to Hokitika’s 147. The results were (Greymouth players mentioned first): — Women’s doubles.—Hutchinson and Buchanan 17 v Stapleton and Stapleton 21; Tennent and Swinburn 21 v Wallace and Pfahlert 10; Stocker and Fraser 21 v Watt and Adamson 16. Men's doubles. —Tennent and Hill 21 v Pfahlert and Wilson 10; Hutchinson and Stocker 21 v Hodgkinson and Cumming 6; Blyth and Vincent 21 v King and Adamson 6.
