Mrs A. L. Sutherland, Miss G. Prrng, and Mr R. P. Nolan were passengers to Wellington by the air service this morning. . Mr E. J. Curtin, of Wellington, today commenced duties as manager ot the Greymouth branch of the Banx of New Zealand. He succeeds Mr T. O’Callaghan who has retired. Tributes to the services given to the union by the late Mr John Tennent were paid by speakers at the annual meeting on Saturday of the West Coast Axemen’s, Cycling and Athletic Union. Mr Tennent, it was stated, had been president of the union at the time of his death and had been treasurer for many years.
