GOLF Coast Championships

More than 100 entries were received from West Coast, Buller, Nelson, and Canterbury players when entries for the West Coast golf championship tournament closed yesterday. The tournament, which is under the management of the Greymouth Golf Club, will be played at the Kaiata links. The first qualifying round will be played. on Saturday and the tournament will conclude on Monday afternoon with the finals over 36 holes of match play being conducted. It is expected that an entry will be received from D. L. Woon, the South Island amateur champion, who is at present living at Westport.
