FIVE POINTS IN WEST GERMANY’S FUTURE POLICY

BERLIN. August 23 (Rec. 1 p.m.). Dr Konrad Adenauer, the new Chancellor of Western. Germany, today gave several policy points for Germany’s future. They were: — 1. The Western Powers in future to consult with the German Federal Government on the German territory’s defence. • 2. Germany eventually to join the Atlantic Pact

3. The establishment of a West German Ministry for Eastern Zone affairs, but opposition to closer cooperation between the East and the West.

4. Continuation of the economic policies of the present bi-zone authorities.

5. One big party to lead the new German Federal Government, with the second largest party forming the responsible Opposition.
