The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— Situation: A deep depression is passing to the south of New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. tomorrow: Moderate to fresh northerly to westerly winds; weather unsettled, with occasional rain; temperatures moderate. Further outlook: Similar conditions. LOCAL RECORDINGS The following recordings were taken at Karoro Meteorological station at 9 o’clock this morning:— Barometer 30.21 in (1023mi1) Maximum temp past 24hr 53 Minimum air temp 46.3 Minimum grass temp 41.9 Humidity 95 Wind Northerly (fresh breeze) Sky Overcast and showery Bar Considerable sea Rainfall yesterday 0.15 in Rainfall to date this year .... 64.14 in Sunshine yesterday ...’ I.4hr Sunshine to date this year .. 1036.8 hr The depth on the bar at high water today was 21ft 3in.
