Transport Bill Passed By The House Today.
WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.). —The Transport Bill was given further consideration in committee in the House of Representatives this morning. It was reported back from the Statutes Revision Committee with an amendment to the clause relating to the hearing and determination of an appeal by the Licensing Appeal Authority. The amendment, which was approved, states that the Licensing Appeal Authority, in determining any appeal, shall not be bound to hear any person or to take any evidence or to receive any representations from any person, provided that where there is no formal hearing of an appeal the Licensing Authority shall receive any written representations made by a person entitled to appeal under the appropriate section of the Act. Opposition members registered their protests against the amendment. The Bill was passed. t . . The Physiotherapy Bill was also passed. ■
