COMMUNISTS “MAY FORM NEW CHURCH”

LONDON, August 18 (Rec 10 a.m.). —The Associated Press Rome correspondent says that excommunicated Italian Communists may take the lead in forming a new church, according to the pro-Communist newspaper. 11 Prese.

The paper said: “If Pontificial hostility should continue, millions and millions of believers may leave the ranks of the faithful and turn themselves towards new altars. It would not be outside logic to believe that from Italy, the cradle of so many spiritual initiatives, a decisive impulse could arise to assemble and unite the trends already existing in various countries.”
