CHILD MIGRANTS AMONG PASSENGERS ON RANGITIKI

WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.)— A party of 22 child migrants were among 438 passengers who arrived at Wellington from Britain by the Rangitiki today. The children were welcomed to their new home by the secretary of Labour and Director of Employment, Mr H. L. Bockett. Army, navy and air force personnel were the passengers. Lieutenant Commander P. J. H. Hoare R.N., arrived with his wife and two daughters to take up an appointment as first lieutenant on the Bellona, and will spend three years with the New Zealand Navy. Wing Commander F. R. Dix R.N.Z.A.F., accompanied by his wife, returned after a course at the joint service staff college at Latimer. Before leaving New Zealand he was commanding officer at Wigram. Other service personnel were • LieutenantColonel R. G. R. Ames, Group Captain R. J. Cohen R.N.Z.A.F., and Squadron Leader V. B. De La Ferrel le.

The sixth winner of the Otaki Shield, lan H. Keltic, of Robert Gordon College, Aberdeen, will make an intensive tour of New Zealand before returning to Britain by the Rangatiki next month.

The editor of “Shanti Dutt,” Suva, Mr G. D. Sharma, arrived en route to Fiji following a visit to Britain at the invitation of the United Kingdom Government.
