Admiral Tennant Retires
LONDON, August 2 (Rec. 9 a.m.) .— The Admiralty today announced the retirement of Admiral Sir William Tennant, commander-in-chief of Britain’s American and West Indies squadron from* 1946 until last April. Sir William flew his flag in the Sheffield, which was' sent to the British Honduras last March to land marines when there were reports of a possible invasion from Guatemala. . He was in command of the battleship Repulse when she was sunk by the Japanese in the Pacific in December, 1941. « _____
