Carpenters’ Dispute: “Worked Itself Out”

AUCKLAND, This Day (P.A.).—The building trade in Auckland is almost back to normal, the carpenters’ dispute having practically worked itself out. “We are on an even keel at present, - said a representative of the Master Builders’ Association today. State house building operations are also back to normal. New contractors have entered the field . The recent building setback kept about 100 Auckland families without relief from bad housing conditions this winter. Work was resumed this week by finishing hands on two groups of houses which had stood untouched for months at Tamaki. The foundation workers from the pensioners flats at Mount Roskill and Panmure will be transferred back by the contracting firm to Tamaki next week.
