Opera House FINALLY TONIGHT: “The Paleface.’’ Commencing tomorrow: “Coroner Creek,” starring Randolph Scott and 'Marguerite Chapman. A pulse-poi>nding epic that rips at the emotions with savage fury, “Coroner Creek,” commences at the Opera House tomorrow. Starring-. Randolph Scott as a tight-lipped cowboy, and Marguerite Chapman as a beautiful daughter of tne West, “Coroner Creek” is full of thrilling, action-packed sequences. Chris Canning is a cowboy who goes gun-crazy with hate directed against the betrayer of his beloved. He hits the trail to find <he unknown man. spots him in the lawless town of Coroner Creek, Arizona, and ruthlessly proceeds to destroy him and his empire. Smoking gun-fights, typical of all Westerns, are present in abundance. One in a livery stable, with the opponents on two different floor levels, builds up great suspense. A bloodcurdling Indian raid and the climatic clash between hero and villain on top of a tower are other highlights.
Regent Theatre TONIGHT: “Love from a Stranger,” starring John Hodiak, Sylvia Sidney, Ann Richards.
With a starring cast headed by John Hodiak, Sylvia Sidney, Ann Richards, “Love from a Stranger” has captured the stark terror of a woman confronted by evil. It tells the story of a woman who falls in love with and marries a complete stranger. Warned by her aunt and her friend against her husband, and presented with positive evidence by the local doctor, Miss Sidney finally realises she is married to a fiendish killer wanted by the police of two continents. The climax, in which diss Sidney confronts her husband with her terrifying knowledge, hits a new high in suspense.
