LONDON, August 1 (Rec. 10 a.m.). —The British United Press Paris correspondent says that titled women and wealthy clients went to work in Paris fashion houses today to help to prepare the autumn shows, which are threatened by the week-old strike by seamstresses. , ■ . At Jacques Fath’s salon Princess Edmond de Polignac sat on a workstool stitching a hat. Next to her Countess Philippe de Ganay sewed the hem of a dress. The fashion shows, originally due to start today, have been postponed until Wednesday. In some houses, notably Christian Diors, some seamstresses drifted back to work, but Tn others the strike is still strongly supported.
