RECORD REGISTRATIONS

WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.).— The number of. motor-vehicle registrations as at June 30 constitutes a record, with an increase of 6 45 per cent, on the figure for last year and an increase of 73.02 on the figure for 1936, stated the Postmaster-general, Mr F. Hackett, of 392,386 motor-vehicles had been registered this year, of which 227,539 were cars (an increase of 6672 on last, year), 144,458 are commercial vehicles ( an increase of 16,355) and 20,389 are motor-cycles (air increase of 762).
