Westland M.P. And Prime Minister’s Meeting

Sir,—ln yesterday’s issue appeared an advertisement relating to the Prime Minister’s meeting to be held tonight on compulsory military training. In the advertisement it was stated that the Prime Minister will be supported by •Mr C. F. Skinner, Mr E. T. Tirikatene, Mr H. O. Jefcoate and Mr F. Chivers. In another part of the paper it is stated that Mr J. B. Kent, M.P., will also be on the platform, having presumably come from Wellington especially to attend the meeting. What about his support? ' It is only common courtesy to allow our local M.P. to speak. Of course he may be one of the Government members opposed to compulsory military training, but the electors should know whether he is for or against the proposal, arid he should be given the opportunity to say so. Here’s honing Mr Kent can still be fitted into the programme—Yours, etc., ON THE FENCE. Greymouth, August 2.
