Lategan, centre, Butler, wing, and Fry, stand-off half, took part in the Sprinkbok trials at Pretoria, and Lategan and Butler are in the 32 names announced from which the Springbok side for the first test will be chosen.
COACHING FILMS
Over 60 coaches and players were present at the recent meeting of the Westland Rugby Union Coaches’ Association when several films on Rugby coaching were screened. Mr R. R. King in his commentary on the films stressed the need for constant practice in all phases of the game by the team as a unit. He was emphatic that the whole team must practice together to gain combination. In thanking Mr King, the chairman, Mr L. Walker, also expressed the appreciation of those present of the efforts of Mr F. W. Baillie in fostering the revival of the association.
