GRANTS WANTED FOR CHURCH SCHOOLS
WELLINGTON, This Day (HA-).— The right of members of the Church of England to educate their children at their own church schools was affirmed today by the General Synod. A resolution was passed expressing
the opinion that, the governing bodies of all church schools should be free, if they so. desired, to apply to the State, either collectively or singly, for grants towards salaries or other"running costs. Alternatively, grants could be made to the parents of pupils attending such schools to offset to some extent the amounts paid in school fees, the resolution added,
