Australian University Rugby Team For N.Z.
(Rec. 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The members of the Australian Universities’ Rugby Union team, which will tour Now Zcslsnd next month, will be available, if needed, for the first test against the Maoris at Sydney on June 4, according to Dr R. Mackey, manager of the Universities’ team. Three of the side, N. Emery (five-eighths), D. Brockhoff (breakaway) and J. S. Lomon (centre) are in the running for the first test team against the Maoris. The Universities’ team will leave for New Zealand on May 5 and will conclucle its tour with a match aginst Auckland University on June 1. The members are scheduled to return by ship, but any placers wanted for the first test can be flown back in time for the match. The fortunes of the Australian Universities’ team will be watched closely by the Australian selectors.
