U.S. Espionage Trial

Valentin Gubitchev, a Russian engineer formerly attached to the United Nations headquarters, said in the Federal Court, today that he did not want to be associated with the trial of, Judith Copion, a former Justice Department employee. Gubitchev and Colon are charged jointly with conspiring to commit espionage. Gubitchev was in Court today for a hearing to set a trial date. He ■ again claimed diplomatic immunity. The judge set the date of the. joint trial for May 2. Copion is due to go on trial in Washington on April 25 on an additional indictment which does not involve Gubitchev.—New York, April 14. '
