PRECAUTIONS IN NORTHERN IRELAND: EIRE INDEPENDENCE
(Recd. 10 a.m.) LONDON, April 15. The Northern Ireland Government is taking large-scale precautions against possible disorder when Eire becomes an republic at midnight on Sunday. A special watch will be kept on the entry from Eire of Irish Republican Army members. The Northern Ireland Government forbade all public meetings celebrating Eire’s independence. Meanwhile in Eire, the citizens appeared unconcerned at the prospect of independence.
