North St Pancras By-election

The Labour Party has retained the North St Pancras seat in the House of Commons. A by-election for the seat resulted:— K. Robinson (Labour). 10,185 votes; N. Shields (Conservative), 11,118; J. Hanlon (Communist), 854. The figures at the 1945 General Elecicn were: Labour, 16,738 votes; Convative, 9108; Independent, 403. The Labour Government has thus maintained an unbroken record of not csing at a bv-election any seat it won n the 1945 General Election—London, March 11.
