BIG GAME FISHING CLUB CLAIMS RECORD

(P.A.) TAURANGA, This Day. The number of fish caught to date in the 1948-49 season by the members of the Tauranga Big Game Fishing Club total 675, which is claimed as a new world record.

The returns of some of the boats have still to come. The season is due to end in three weeks. No club in the world has caught so many fish in one year, states the secretary, Mr J. E. Lloyd. Two years ago the club created a world record with a total of 585.
