Government Success In Manchuria
SHANGHAI, October 18.
Scoring one of their most strategically important victories in Manchuria in recent months, the Chinese Government forces today captured the railway hub of Sinlitun, 70 miles west of Mukden and 80 miles northeast of Chinchow, less than 24 hours after they had launched a twopronged drive on the town. The recapture of Chinchow, a key Manchurian corridor city, which fell to the Communists three days ago, is expected at any moment, according to a bulletin from the Chinese Ministry. of National Defence. Government relief columns are only 10 kilometres from- Chinchow.
