‘GO-SLOW’ POLICY ON GERMAN REPARATIONS
WASHINGTON, October 18 Britain has informed Mr Paul Hoffman the Economic Co-operation Administrator, that it approved his proposals for a “go slow” policy in the dismantling of German industrial plants for reparations pending the drawing up of a final list of plants which are to be retained in Germany. Britain has requested that no formal announcement be made of its decision -until France 'has communicated its verdict, but it is understood that Britain has agreed to a temporary halt in the dismantling of 126 major plants and the slowing down of the removal of 457 other plants.
