TASMAN AIRWAYS EMPLOYEES AND AWARD COVER
(PA) AUCKLAND, This Day. Should clerical workers employed by Tasman Empire Airways come under the New Zealand Shipping Officers Clerical Union or under one of the unions affiliated with the New Zealand Clerical Association? On this point the Arbitration Court today reserved its decision, which will be attached as a memorandum to the award to be issued for shipping office clerical employees. . , , . Tasman Airways employees had been cited by the Shipping Officers’ Clerical Union as a, party to its award, but an objection was lodged by the New Zealand Clerical Association. Mr Justice Tyndall said he failed to see how the clerical employees of Tasman Airways, who were not engaged in shipping duties at all, could come under the coverage of the Shipping Officers’. Clerical Award.
