Too Old to Emigrate?
On the occasion of the author s 92nd birthday, the Mayor of Invercargill, Mr A. Wachner, wrote a congratulatory letter to Mr George Bernard . Shaw, whose secretary sent the following reply to the Mayor. “Mr Shaw is highly gratified by your message, but in ins 93rd year he is too old to repeat his visit to New Zealand . If he were young enought to emigrate he would certainly choose New Zealand in which to begin a career in preference to all the other British Dominions.” . t<iihiiii -(i■
