TOKIO, October 18,

General MacArthur’s headquarters announced that 1000 Japanese suspected of war crimes have been tried, and 916 of them convicted by United States Army Military Commissions in Yokohoma and Manila. The commissions imposed 192 death sentences and 80 life sentences.
