Associated Gold Dredges.—For the week ended October 16, the Atarau dredge recovered 52 ounces from 23,520 yards in 103;} dredging hours.
D.I.C. Proposed Bonus Issue. —The directors of the Drapery and General Importing Company of New Zealand, Ltd (D.1.C.), have under consideration the capitalising of part of the company’s reserves by the issue of bonus shares to ordinary shareholders and also increasing its capital by offering new shares to holders of ordinary shares. It is hoped to make an announcement early in the New Year. —(P.A.) B.H.P. Interim Dividend. —Broken Hill Proprietary. Co., Ltd, is paying an interim half-yearly dividend of lOd a share on November 24, ex October 28. Total distribution last year was Is 8d a share, or 8 1-3 per cent., which represents £6 13s lid per cent, to New Zealand holders at the current rate of exchange.
