“Golden Earrings,” co-stars Ray Milland and Marlene Dietrich and it tells a grand tale of adventure and romance. Based on Yolanda Foldes’ best-sell-ing novel of the same name, “Golden Earrings” is a daring, unconventional account of what happens when a British officer is saved from pursuing Nazis by a quick-thinking, courageous gypsy woman. Milland portrays the officer, a gentleman to the core, but nevertheless susceptible to the seductive charms of his rescuer. How Miss Dietrich succeeds in transforming the correct Englishman into a fighting, loving gypsy makes “Golden Earrings” a highly entertaining picture.
