MYSTERIOUS MURDER OF FORMER JUGOSLAV DIPLOMAT
PARIS, October 16. : The French police are investigating' the death of Todor Ristich, the former Jugoslav Ambassador to Den- ■ mark. His nude, strangled body was ' found in a bath yesterday by his! daughter. He was 68 years of age. The tragedy occurred at his flat at Chambeery, in the south of France. On the; door of the flat there was a note say- ! ing: “The owner of this flat is awav.” j The police think that Ristich had I been strangled ten days ago. His daughter who had been worried at receiving no news from hex* father, came from Paris yesterday, and she forced the lock of the flat, after finding 1 the note. The police state that the dead man’s car and keys have disappeared. A French official, who lives below the flat of the late Mr Ristich, told the police that he heard a violent dispute in the flat above about twelve days ago. Mr Ristich, who took an active part in the Jugoslavs’ anti-German resistance, resigned his post as Consul-Gen-eral at Geneva when Marchal Tito came to power.
