Based on Yolanda Foldes’ best-sell-ing novel of the same name, “Golden Earrings” is a daring, unconventional account of what happens when a British officer is saved from pursuing Nazis by a quick-thinking, courageous gypsy woman. Milland portrays the officer, a gentleman to the core, but nevertheless susceptible to the seductive, charms of his rescuer. How Miss Dietrich succeeds in transforming the correct Englishman into a. fighting, loving gypsy makes “Golden Earrings” a highly entertaining picture.
